500HP Mack Granite on order
We are excited to announce that we have placed an order for a brand new 2015 plated Mack Granite at 70t GCM with an MP8 SCR motor at 500hp and 1840 lb-ft, paired with an 20 series 18 speed Roadranger with a 15.5” Eaton “Solo” Clutch, with air assist. It’ll have 1000l of fuel capacity (2 x 500l) and 150l of AdBlue, all polished aluminium.
This Granite will be configured as a B-double rated prime mover with turntable, but will have a certified removable table-top with quick release table-top locking mechanism, and a Ringfeder, allowing us to use the truck as a rigid, a truck and pig/dog, a semi or B-double.
For a roomier and comfortable cabin experience for assessors and learners, it will be built with a 720mm integrated sleeper cab, with Burgundy and Woodgrain finish, and 40l fridge/freezer.
Standard safety features include ABS and FUPs (Front Underrun Protection).
We’ve gone for a Full gauge kit which on top of the normal gauges of Fuel level, AdBlue level, Oil pressure and Air pressure, ours will have Axel temps, Air application pressure (pressure applied to boosters), Trans temp, Manifold pressure, and Exhaust gas temp. We will also have a thing Mack are calling Co-pilot which displays some digital gauge readouts, fuel economy, fault diagnostics, outside air temp, etc. We certainly won’t be short of information about our trucks performance.
Both driver and passengers seat will be Isri premium air seats with integrated seatbelts. The truck will be fitted with power everything.
This truck is Mack build quality and looks meets Volvo technology and safety (Volvo own Mack).
One standout feature with the Granite cabin is the ability to walk between the two seats and the sleeper, and the fact that the instructor can reach the gear selector from the passengers seat, enabling learners to be properly nursed with gear changing in the nursery area.
David and Michael from VCV Sydney have been brilliant to deal with and I highly recommend them for all your Mack, Volvo or UD needs.
We expect delivery in late May 2015, just in time for Convoy for Kids in September.
Photos are from a different dealer. Our truck is will look exactly like this.
